Anyone can become a cardholder of our Community Library free of charge. You may either apply online or in person at the Library.
Once you have applied for your library card you will receive a code by email. You must then come in person to the Library with your code and two passport photographs to complete your application and get your library card. There is a N200 administrative fee for the library card. Your library card is valid for one year and can be renewed.
Renew Your Library Card
You must renew your library card in person every year. You will receive an email alert in advance of its expiration date. All of the conditions applicable to new library cards apply to renewals.
Replace Your Lost or Damaged Library Card
The cost of replacing a lost or damaged library card is N200. You must report the loss in person and produce a passport photograph for the new card.
Your library card does not allow you to borrow any item from the Library. To borrow materials you need to get a borrower’s ticket. You must apply for a borrower’s ticket in person and you will be required to make a non-refundable deposit of N2000 against the possible loss or damage of any borrowed item. You will also need to provide proof of your address such as a utility bill or sublease/tenancy agreement. You are required to report any change of address immediately.
